No more pain!!

OMG You have no idea how much better I feel today.

Ok, yesterday I went in to work. I was feeling ok, not great, but ok. I ate a couple peanuts for lunch, and had some tea. All in all I drank about 2 cups of liquid throughout the day. By about 1:00 pm I was feeling like crap. My stomach was hurting again, and I couldn't drink anything. I even took some liquid vicodin to help ease the pain. I know it went down, but it was slow to take effect. Even when it did, I still hurt, just not as much.

I was completely dragging. I couldn't get comfortable unless I stood up, but because of the lack of food I was too tired to even do that. I had to content myself with stretching out in my chair a bit and trying to sleep/doze. I couldn't really sleep sleep because I was at work, and I was determined to tough it out to 3 o'clock. At three when I got off work I was almost incoherent. Couldn't talk very loud, because that moved my stomach and that hurt. I was in constant pain. It was awful.

I drove home to drop off the uneaten lunch that I had in my lunch bag and some other stuff I didn't need, then went to my doctor's appointment, which had been scheduled for 3:45.

Waiting in the dr's office I had to stand, sitting just hurt too much. I was on my knees on the bench holding on to the window sill next to it so I didn't fall over, waiting for them to call me. Finally they called me back. They weighed me, I was 194 according to their scales. Fully dressed, minus shoes. When they put me in my room I sat for a minute for them to check my blood pressure and whatnot. I was feeling very woozy and light-headed. While the nurse got all the stuff ready to have my saline taken out, I leaned against the desk. Standing, but held up by something.

The new doctors got there a few minutes later. I can't remember their names, but it was a man and a woman. They were very nice. Apparently it was their first day seeing patients in the clinic. They'd been on call over the weekend though, and were shocked that they hadn't seen me. I told them about what had happened since last Wednesday and the male doctor said I should have all my fluid taken out. He verified with me that I only had about 3.5 cc's of saline right now. He said I should leave it all out for at least 2 weeks, then I could start putting it back in again. I agreed, it was only two weeks. I could handle that. My biggest fear is that I don't do it right, then end up having to keep it out for longer. I'm doing so well on the weight loss, I really don't want to backslide too much. A few pounds is ok, but that's it. He also said I should avoid pork chops ones I get my band filled again. Eat some other protein.

They had me get up on the table, just like for a fill. They scoped out my port. It's just under my scar and tipped a little to the left. Like sideways. He said that as I lose weight it should flatten out some. I tried to pay as much attention as I could so I could remind them the next time they poke into my belly. While I was lying there he and the lady doctor looked at my face and said I looked pasty. Really pasty. With that worried look that doctors get on their face right before they send you to get hooked up to an IV.

He pulled out the fluid, and apparently there was actually 4.5 cc's in there! We were all shocked. Someone hadn't written the extra amount down, and since I'd had fills from two different doctors, who knows who did it. Either way, he took it all out. So I'm empty now. I felt better almost immediately. No more pain!

He had me drink a glass of water, and I did. He said if I could drink two glasses of water he'd let me go home, but if not, he was going to admit me so they could catch me up on my fluids. Well, let me tell you, that water was some of the best I'd had in a while. Not because of the taste, but because it was so refreshing! I drank both cups and was ready to go. I didn't feel woozy (as much) and my stomach didn't hurt. Thank goodness for small miracles. This means my band is probably not slipped, which was a concern. It doesn't mean for 100% sure that it didn't slip, but it's very unlikely.

We went up to Albany to drop off our friend that had been at our house for Halloween weekend. On the way up there we stopped at got Jamba Juice drinks. I got a Peanut butter Moo'd with no chocolate. A small one. I only ended up drinking about half of it. Once we got to Albany, we ate dinner at Panda Express. One of my favorite places to eat, that had been out of my reach before. Too many noodles and bread products. I had a "Bowl" which is one entree and one side. My side was NOODLES (my fav, yay) and my entree was mushroom chicken. The mushroom chicken was a little bland, I must say. I was just afraid to get anything spicy, for fear of irritating my stomach.

I was only able to eat about 1/2 cup of the food that they gave me, so I ended up taking alot home. Which is good cause I eated it for brekky today!! :D

I was very happy that I still was not to eat all that food. That means I still have some restriction, which should make the next two weeks easier. I'm doing my elliptical today after my boob appointment (last one, YAY!). I don't know what we're doing for dinner tonight, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it thoroughly. XD

Oh, and for lunch today I had a handful of fries, and a half of a chicken sandwich from McD's, minus the bottom bun (too much bread). It was SOOOO good. You have no idea. Crispy and warm. I had walked to McD's from my work, and it was so cold out I could see my breath. I sat there in McDonald's with my ear buds playing Christmas music and eating yummy crispy chicken and fries. I couldn't ask for a better lunch.

Current weight: 194lbs ?
Current Mood: HAPPY !! XD

Angi, I can't believe it. You and I were at the doctor's office at the same time yesterday I think. I had a 1:45 appt but didn't get taken in until 2:45 and was there til after 3:30. I liked both doctors. Dr McColl is the man and he has had a LapBand too and the lady is Dr Follet I think. I got only 1cc in my band and I have to go back in two weeks for another fill. He wants to take it slow this time since I had so much trouble. I didn't realize you had a problem. I am glad you're feeling better now.

Angi,
Do you think your problem came about because your band was over-filled?
I have 3.75 cc's - - and I can eat a lot more than you could.
I'm afraid (as I told you in my e-mail) because I am going for a re-fill this Friday.
I am glad to read you are doing much better now.

@Kathy - That's funny! Thanks for the name update.

@Ema - Maybe, but I don't think so. I think I just pushed it too far.
